The Soho Hotel London

Situated in a quiet mews off Dean Street, the Soho Hotel is as surprising as it is sophisticated, spacious and incredibly stylish. The decor is a quirky mix of traditional English furniture and vibrant modern fabrics, with an eclectic display of artworks adorning the walls. If you like to be in a space humming with activity, then ask for a table in the Refuel bar and restaurant. For a more peaceful, relaxing ambience book your table in the elegant drawing room with its hugely inviting sofas, or in the comfort of the wood panelled library.

Each of the afternoon teas is wonderful, from the Traditional with its delicious finger sandwiches, super scones with the essential clotted cream and jam, and delectable cakes, to the Champagne Tea, with the addition of smoked salmon blinis and a bowl of strawberries. Even the cake stands make a statement here, for they are modern, bordered in pink or green to match the decor. But the star turn has to be the Ruinart and Miller Harris Sensory Tea, which combines food with more delicate flavours such as cucumber and basil sandwiches, a dainty raspberry tartlet and a lemon cupcake, all designed to complement the freshness of the Blanc de Blancs Champagne and the Miller Harris fragrant teas. Sipping The Petales, a delicate pure blend of Vanilla Ceylon and Rose Absolute from Turkey, from a Wedgwood Wild Strawberry bone china tea cup is a real joy. For a fabulous treat, why not book seats for the Sunday afternoon Film Club, watch the movie of the week in one of the state-of-the-art screening rooms, and then enjoy a blissful Champagne Tea. This is somewhere where you could really spend all day.
