LAKE MARIA STATE PARK MAP MINNESOTA

1,418 acres. This hilly and forested park in south-central Minnesota has some marshes, ponds, and several lakes, the largest of which is Lake Maria. Terrain is often rough, and consists of terminal moraines (glacial debris including boulders). Among the wildlife here are white-tailed deer and red fox.

Activities: There are 14 miles of trails for hiking and backpacking. The trails are used for crosscountry skiing during winter. Seven miles are open to horseback riding. Fishing is available at the lakes. Hunting is not allowed.

Camping Regulations: Eleven designated backpack campsites are located along some of the trails in the southern section of the park. Campers must register at the park office.
