From June through September, the courtyard outside the Charles Hotel becomes a concert setting. Jazz, folk, and rock bands from the New England area play on Wednesday through Friday evenings from 6 to 8 P.M. Admission is free.

Hatch Memorial Shell Concerts

A variety of concerts, including swing, folk, jazz, and country, take place all summer on the Esplanade. Each year, the Boston Pops kick off the season with the Independence Day fireworks concert; they are followed throughout the summer by swing bands, folk and country, international bands, and more. All concerts are free, starting at 8 pm. most weeknights and 1 rm. on weekends. Parking is permitted along Storrow Drive near the shell, during concerts only.
