History

Greentree was founded in 1886.

Greentree is located at 40°26′55″N 79°55′23″W (40.448615, -79.923070).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.0 km2), all land.

At the 2010 census, the borough was home to 3,482 people and 1,436 households. The population density was 8,705.0 people per square mile (3,364.5/km2). There were 1,530 housing units at an average density of 3,825.0 per square mile (1,475.7/km2).

The racial makeup of the borough was 93.6% White, 3.7% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.4% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
