Choccolocco, Alabama is a town in Cherokee County, Alabama, United States. The population was 1,253 at the 2010 census.

The town was founded in 1818 by James Choccolocco, a Cherokee Indian. The town was named for the Choccolocco River, which flows through it.

In 1838, the Cherokee were forced to leave their homes in Alabama and march to Indian Territory (now Oklahoma). Choccolocco was abandoned, but was resettled in 1840 by white settlers.

The town was incorporated in 1881.

Choccolocco is located on the Choccolocco River, about 10 miles (16 km) south of Centre, the county seat of Cherokee County.

The town is served by Alabama Highway 11.
