JENNY WILEY TRAIL
Second longest trail in the state, this National Recreation Trail runs from Jenny Wiley State Park, in the eastern part of the state, to South Portsmouth, on the Ohio River at the northeast border of Kentucky.
Most of the time the Jenny Wiley follows a mountain ridge, and almost all of the trail is on private lands. Difficulty ranges from easy to strenuous. It briefly passes within two miles of the Sheltowee Trace Trail, and a short trail connects the two.
Camping Regulations: Trail shelters are located every 10 miles or so along the trail. Camping and campfires are allowed at these shelters, and no permits are required. On private lands camping is restricted to designated sites, except with the landowner’s permission.
