GIVERNY PARIS

Today, Monet’s house and gardens in Givemy are maintained by the Fondation Claude Monet. From April to July, Givemy overflows with roses, hollyhocks, poppies, and the heady scent of honeysuckle. The water lilies, the Japanese bridge, and the weeping willows seem to be plucked straight from Monet’s paintings. Monet’s thatched-roof house holds his collection of 18th- and 19th-century Japanese prints. The accompanying Musee d’Art Americain houses work by American Impressionists Butler, Breck, and others.
