If a coat of pink paint and a Dora the Explorer comforter are too pedestrian for your little designer-in-training, a trip to lucy and company is in order. Founded in 2001, the boutique specializes in interior designs for children. Owner and designer Beth Keim has created mini-rooms throughout the space to showcase custom paint treatments, original artwork, and designer furniture and accessories. Though bedrooms, especially nurseries, are the main focus, there are also ideas for playrooms. The designs tend to favor bold colors and hand-painted finishes that are a step above plain old pink and blue.
