A working farm, the Ellis Bird Farm is dedicated to conserving mountain bluebirds, tree swallows, and other nesting birds native to central Alberta. Visitors can meander along trails, through hummingbird, butterfly, wildflower, and water gardens and see the world’s largest outdoor bluebird nest box collection.
Annual activities include interpretive hikes, bird banding tours (Sundays in June), and the Bug Jamboree and Butterfly Count. Some events are subject to weather conditions. The annual Bluebird Festival (July) includes live music, family activities, and a neighbourhood market.
