The 1964 and 1976 winter Olympics were held in Innsbruck (pop. 128,000), bring ing international recognition to this beautiful mountain city. The nearby Tyrolean Alps await skiers and hikers, and the tiny cobblestone streets of the Altstadt are peppered with fancy facades and relics of the Habsburg Empire.

The main bus station is in front of the entrance to the train station. Most buses stop running at 10:30 or 11:30pm, but 3 Nachtbus lines continue through the night.
