Clinton is a bit out of Mine’s usual geographic territory, but this is so unusual and so cheap, he felt compelled to report on it. A newly renovated historic theater, the Last Strand serves up current movies along with beer, wine, pizza, hot sandwiches, and nachos. Tickets are just $4 ($3.50 for seniors and children). The movies shown here are in that netherworld between first- and second-run: They’ve been out for a few weeks, but may still be playing in the megaplexes. There is generally one showing on weeknights, two on weekends, and a kiddie matinee on Saturdays and Sundays.
