Candles of all shapes, sizes, and colors are stocked at High Country Candles, which is spread across several rooms in the historic Martin House. All of the candles are handmade on-site by owner Cyndi Ziegler, who narrates the process while she dips, dyes, and carves the candles at a workstation in the front of the store. The shop sells pillar candles, taper candles, and jar candles as well as an unusual assortment of colorful candles that have been molded into fanciful shapes.

Soon you arrive at a road – it is in fact Munich Map Tourist Attractions the continuation of Sea Road – and turn left to follow it. Shortly you pass the delightfully Munich Map Tourist Attractions old-fashioned Suttons Fish Shop, where you may wish to purchase a souvenir of your coastal march in the form of some freshly caught fish, and a couple more hundred yards bring you across the Royal Military Canal and on to the junction with the main A259. Turn left onto it, and then take the first road leading off it to the left, signposted Winchelsea. This is Strand Hill, which takes you steeply uphill, giving splendid views across the levels to the sea. You pass through the splendid old Strand Gate, and swing right into the High Street, crossing St Thomas Street and passing to the right of St Thomas Church. By turning left into German Street you will find not only a convenient entrance to the church but also a bus stop with regular buses back to Hastings.
