TRANSPORTATION
Buses are the cheapest way ( 12) to get to Hallstatt from Salzburg, but require layovers in both Bad Ischl and Gosaumiihle. The train station, across the lake, is not staffed. All trains come from Attnang-Puchheim in the north or Stainach-Irdning in the south. Trains run hourly to Bad Ischl (30min. 3) and Salzburg via Attnang-Puchheim (212hrs. 17).
