DIY-ING THE MUSIC THE EXPERT: Business-savvy Moscha Chanioti is onehalf of the sister-duo Stella and Moscha, a boutique wedding-planning and design firm specializing in tailor-made Greek island celebrations. A month prior to one couple’s arrival in the Greek isles, the DJ the couple had booked canceled, so we strongly encouraged them to hire a local DJ.
However, they felt the local DJs were too expensive and asked if they could bring a USB and play music out of the reception venue’s computer. Again we strongly suggested this wasn’t a good idea, as the venue didn’t have an in-house DJ or professional sound equipment.
But the couple insisted and asked one of their guests to emcee. Unfortunately, on the wedding night, the music kept breaking of , interrupting the evening’s fl ow. The venue manager was left trying to rectify the situation without the help of a technician. THE FIX If you want to have peace of mind and a great night you’ll cherish forever, hiring a DJ isn’t something to compromise on. Plus, none of your friends will have to play double-duty as both guest and emcee.
