Antonio’s Cucina Italians US Map & Phone & Address

288 Cambridge St. Boston; (617) 367-3310

Located on the Back of the Hill, savvy Bostonians refer to this as going to the North End without actually going into the North End. In other words, you can actually park nearby. The atmosphere is surprisingly elegant quiet music, linen tablecloths and napkins, and courteous service.

The food is first-rate, a mix of basics and fancier creations. A plate of fettucine Alfredo, for instance, is $6.95; same price for a more unusual gnocchi in pesto sauce. Steak piz-zaola is a reasonable $10.95, as is grilled swordfish. All manner of veal and chicken dishes fall in the $7.95 to $9.95 range, with good portions. Wines and beers are available.

Antonio’s serves up smaller versions of many entrees as weekday lunch specials: chicken cutlet with ziti for $4.95, linguine and a meatball for $3.95. Mangia. Open Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 10 P.M. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 10:30 P.M.
