The Art Galleries conduct an art program from international and multicultural perspectives. Historical and contemporary, thematic and media-oriented exhibitions are presented, to reflect the broad spectrum of art in todays global society and to accommodate an equally broad audience. Special events such as lectures, performances, video and film presentations, symposia, and tours have also become an integral part of the Gallery program. CSU Northridge Galleries are located in temporary space as a result of the earthquake in 1994; a new building is scheduled to open in the spring of 2001. In addition to exhibitions at the Art Dome, each year three to five shows are mounted in the Performing Arts Center Gallery-USU and changing exhibitions of work by Master’s Degree candidates, faculty, students and visiting artists are displayed in North Gallery (677-2156), Halstead House 1102. CSU Northridge Art Galleries do not maintain a permanent collection.
