Cologne Map Tourist Attractions
Cologne cuisine includes scrumptious Rievekoochen (slabs of fried potato dunked in applesauce) and smooth Kolsch beer. Cheap restaurants line Ziilpicher-strafie, and Weidengasse in the Turkish district. Mid-priced ethnic restaurants toe the perimeter of the Altstadt, particularly from Hohenzollernring to Hohenstaufen-ring. German eateries surround the Domplatz. An open-air market on Wilhelmsplatz takes over the Nippes neighborhood in the morning. (Open M-Sa 8am-lpm.)
Brauhaus Friih am Dom, Am Hof 14 (258 03 97). A trip to Cologne isn’t complete without a visit. The Kolsch is cheap (‚1.35) and the specialties regional (‚4-18). Open daily 8am-midnight, menu until 11:45pm.

Paffgen-Brauerei, Friesenstr. 64. Take U6 to Friesenplatz. Local favorite since 1883. Kolsch (‚1.25) is brewed on the premises and consumed in cavernous halls or in the 600-seat Biergarten. Meals ‚2-16. Open daily lOam-midnight.
Feynsinn, Rathenaupl. 7. U8 to Zulpicher Platz. Swank university crowds chatter under a star-studded ceiling. Breakfast until 5pm. Open M-F 9am-lam, Sa-Su 10am-2am.
Cafe Magnus, Ziilpicherstr. 48. Take U8to Zulpicher Platz. Though students dominate the nightly scene, locals of all ages flock to this cafe for funky tunes and artfully prepared meals from ‚4. Open daily 8am-3am.
Ganesha, Handelstr. 29. at the corner of Richard-Wagner-Str. Take U6 to Rudolfplatz. Offers a broad range of Indian specialties, from samosas (‚3) to spicy chicken vanda-loo (‚6). Most entrees ‚7-12. Open M-Su 6pm-midnight, Tu-Su also 12:30-3pm.
