Hey everyone Paula here with Travel Savvy TV; today we’re talking spring break and for families everywhere that means it’s time to start the annual pilgrimage to sunny South Florida. Flights are jam-packed for a full 2 weeks with kids and parents heading down to Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm. In this WeHear we’ve got some fantastic family fun planned just for you. If you’re in town during Easter weekend, head to Zoo Miami’s Great Egg Safari for a fun day of music games and prizes and of course an old-fashioned Easter egg hunt for kids 12 and under. Head over on Saturday or Sunday from 11 to 4 and also get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. For even more beautiful wildlife we recommend a visit to Butterfly World which is just west of the turnpike on Sample Road in Coconut Creek. Stroll through the acres of indoor and outdoor gardens that are home to thousands of butterflies, hundreds of birds, including hummingbirds and more.
Before you go prints a $3 off general admission coupon from their website which is good for up to six people per coupon. Speaking of birds we also love the flamingos experience at the Palm Beach Zoo. Every day at 12:30 guests can take part in feeding and walking with the zoo’s flock of Chilean flamingos. Get up close and personal with these pretty pink birds and snag some insta-worthy selfies. The Palm Beach Zoo offers a number of other up-close and personal animal experiences, including their daily visits with giant anteaters and their family of capybaras, which are the largest rodents in the world and related to the guinea pig. Note that these behind-the-scenes experiences require closed-toed shoes and advance ticket purchases that are not included in zoo admission.

Since it’s almost always hot and humid in South Florida you might want to escape the heat and let the kids run wild at a local waterpark. Check out the sprawling Rapids Water Park in West Palm, which offers 30 acres of splashy fun perfect for all ages. Choose to go flying down one of their 35 water slides, float the day away along their lazy river or hold onto your raft as you drift on giant waves in the 25,000 square foot wave pool. This park has been a local favorite since 1979 and attracts upwards of 400,000 visitors annually.

If you’re in town with younger children 10 and under and want a low-key neighborhood waterpark option, head to Sugar Sand Park in Boca. This municipal park offers more than just a splash pad. The playground and the on-site carousel ride are both wheelchair accessible, and the park also offers a Science Exploratorium, a sports pavilion, nature trails and picnic areas. The best part..coming to the park is free of charge for both residents and visitors.
