The Michener House Museum and Archives, the birthplace of the Right Honourable Roland Michener, is the oldest remaining residence in Lacombe.

Location: 5020-49th (Glass) Street, Lacombe, one block east of Michener House Museum and Archives.

Info: Open for special events and by appointment from Victoria Day through Labour Day, Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free; donations are welcome. 403-782-3933.

Built in 1902, Lacombe’s blacksmith shop is the oldest operational blacksmith facility in Alberta. It is one of only two Alberta blacksmith shops to remain in the locations where they were first built. The museum contains blacksmithing artifacts and a working shop. Call the museum ahead of time if you would like to book a tour or a hand-forging demonstration.
