The Sonnenschein Gallery and the adjacent Albright Room are located in the Durand Art Institute. Changing exhibitions are mounted in the Sonnenschein Gallery throughout the academic year, displaying both student and faculty work as well as selections from the Colleges permanent collection and works lent by other collections. The Albright Room is used to display the Colleges collections of Pre-Columbian and African art. The permanent collection at Lake Forest consists of European drawings and prints, contemporary American prints, Pre-Columbian art, African art, and prints, drawings, paintings, and photographs from various periods.

The Lockport Gallery, a branch site of the Illinois State Museum (Springfield, Illinois), provides a place for visitors to explore, contemplate, and discover the tine, decorative, industrial, and ethnographic arts created by past and contemporary Illinois artists and artisans. The Gallery features a wide range of changing exhibitions, educational and interpretive activities, tours, publications, and research.
