As a financial center, Lyon has fewer empty beds during the work week than on the weekends. Fall is actually the busiest season; it’s easier and cheaper to find a place in the summer, but making reservations is still a good idea. Budget hotels cluster east of place Carnot, near Perrache. Prices rise as you approach place Bellecour, but there are less expensive options north of place des Terreaux.
