MAPLEWOOD STATE PARK MAP MINNESOTA

9,250 acres. Located in west-central Minnesota, Maplewood State Park has hilly terrain with some prairie, forests of hardwoods, plus cedar and tamarack, and many lakes and ponds. Wildlife includes white-tailed deer.

Activities; There are 25 miles of trails for hiking and backpacking. About 15 miles are open to horseback riding, and 17 miles of trails are groomed for cross-country skiing. Canoeing is possible on some of the lakes.

Camping Regulations; Camping and campfires are restricted to three designated backpack camping areas. Two of these areas are next to lakes and useable by canoe-campers as well.

In earlyJuly 1944, Kuscher and the whole crew transferred onto the new Type XXI boat U 3515 and U 1274 was taken over by a fresh crew under Oblt.z.S. Hans-Hermann Fitting. On 1 March 1944, U 1274 was assigned as a training boat to 8.U-Flotilla in Danzig with Oblt.z.S. Fedor Kuscher as commander.
