MIRABELL PALACE AND GARDENS AUSTRIA

Mirabellpl. holds the marvelous Mirabell SchloB, which the supposedly celibate Archbishop Wolf Dietrich built for his mistress and their ten children in 1606. Behind the palace, the delicately culti vated Mirabellgarten is a maze of seasonal flower beds and groomed shrubbery. The Mirabellgarten contains a wooden, moss-covered shack called the Zauberfloten- hauschen, where Mozart allegedly composed The Magic Flute in just five months.
