AMBULANCESChinese Ambulances just transport people to hospital and the personnel usually have little medical training. If possible, travellers should take taxis or any available transport to nearest major hospital as ambulances may take some time to arrive.

SHENZHEN HOSPITALS

If you choose to use Chinese hospitals, the Shenzhen Municipal Health Bureau reports that the following hospitals have special outpatient services for foreigners. These hospitals have foreign-language speaking staff and also have V.I.P. wards, which provide a higher level of service. Although called V.I.P. a closer description would be premium, compared with economy. Many Chinese hospitals have two streams of treatment.

Appointments in advance are not usually available. It is normal to to show up and see if a doctor is available, even for specialists.

DENTISTS

We’ve been having our teeth done in Shenzhen for years now. If you know us, you’ll know that this is no small matter. Originally we used to get fantastic service from fillings to dental implants for a risible amount. Lately however we’ve noticed that fees have started to resemble what we’ve always thought of as dental fees. But they’re still reasonable by most standards and the work is good.
