Customers call this “a grownups’ candy store,” and judging by the level of activity during Mine’s drop-in, the Beauty Connection satisfies many a sweet tooth. They carry an extensive line of fine cosmetics and fragrances, including men’s colognes, all priced at 10% to 25% below retail. Yet even when it gets hectic in here, the staff takes the time to give plenty of expert service without heavy sales pressure.
Save 15%, pretty much across the board, on Lancome, Elizabeth Arden, and Ultima lines. There are tons of hair care products and accessories, many of which are seen for much more at the upscale boutiques in Bloomingdale’s and Henri Bendel (the Coolidge Comer branch, which includes a hair salon, has the biggest selection of hair care stuff).
BC carries a vast range of makeup, from several manufacturers. They even offer an instructive, hour-long make-over session in the store for $15; but if you’re in a real hurry (or just a good Cheapster), they also do a quick “Mini-makeover” for $8 in other words, a “make me look fantastic for the gala ball tonight” do-up.
Beauty Connection must be doing something right they’ve been around for fifteen years. Open Mondays through Saturdays from 9:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
