The May Fair London

Discretely located away from the main restaurant, Quince Salon has the feel of a private club, and is an intimate and comfortable space in which to partake of a rather different and exciting afternoon tea. Inspired by Patron Chef Silvena Rowe’s Eastern Mediterranean roots, the delicate finger sandwiches are filled with savouries such as baba ganoush, avocado hummus and the mildly spiced shawarma chicken. Whilst the scones are very traditionally English, complete with clotted cream and preserves, each of the cakes and fancies has a touch of the Ottoman Empire about it. A hint of cardamom in the miniature lemon tart, a cake with fig and almond combined with white chocolate and a filo pastry made with orange and orange blossom are amongst the delicacies that will make your taste buds tingle with delight. The list of organic loose leaf tea on the menu may be small, but each is an exquisite product of the Rare Tea Company, and a treat for even the most discerning connoisseur. A glass of Duval Leroy champagne is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious and decadent afternoon tea.
