Fun in Florence!
Paulina Yeh, 29, married Peter Corvi, 36, at Villa Cora, Florence, Italy, on 18th August 2018. She says:
I remember visiting Florence in 2013 with a friend and telling her, ‘I want to get married here.’ Fast forward five years and I did! It was the history, natural beauty, food, wine and culture that sold it to me. Peter and I booked a trip to search for venues one weekend. When we discovered the Mirror Room at Villa Cora, it truly took our breath away – and we cancelled all other venue tours. It just felt right.
We had a clear idea of what we wanted, which made making decisions quick and easy, plus we had a lot of fun doing it. We wanted the day to be an extension of us, surrounded by our closest friends and family (we only invited 45 people)!

We wanted guests to have a true Italian-style day – we served Aperol Spritz and Prosecco for our cocktail hour, alongside a gelato bar and traditional music.
For flowers, I wanted an all-white palette to keep the design clean and classic, and opted for roses, lisianthus and hydrangeas.
I ended up having three dresses. I chose something princess-like for the ceremony, with a big train; for the reception, I had a pale-pink chiffon Berta gown with small embroidered flowers; and for the afterparty, I had a long-sleeved, mermaid-style beaded number, which was super-comfy and allowed me to dance freely all night!
My top tip When planning a wedding from abroad, be aware of the time difference and allow time for suppliers to get back to you.
