This post I’m going on a tour of the Vatican City with my private guide Simone. Hi, everybody. Alright, let’s do it. Check this out, the ceilings, they look like they’re made of 3-D, but it’s just two dimensional, it’s just paint. This is like the start of 3-D movies right here, on the ceiling here in Vatican City. It is awesome. Behind me is the entrance to the Sistine Chapel.

And this is where Michelangelo’s painting, the famous painting touching the fingers. That is one of the most majestic things that I’ve ever seen in my life. I like this room, it’s kinda dark, cozy, and quiet. And it’s the tapestry room, so these giant tapestries are 500 years old, pretty awesome. And I’m now in the map room of Italy. And both sides of the wall are lined with giant maps made about 480 years ago. And they’re more accurate than the maps they have now.

Expressed in Italian means wet. You paint the plaster, upon the plaster you see wet. Not after the plaster is dry. And that’s When the plaster is wet, and it creates a chemical reaction that puts the paint like, into the wall. So you see, they don’t paint it when it was dry because it would just flake off.

So this painting is as bright as ever. We’ve all seen this painting behind me, this is one of the most famous painting’s in the world. This is Raphael’s first painting ever in the Vatican. And we have all the greats. We have Michelangelo, Raphael, and Leonardo. I am now inside of the Saint Peter’s Basilica. And this place is gigantic. It’s the largest Catholic church.

No other building in all of Rome, can be built taller than this dome. Walking around the Vatican City is like nothing I could’ve imagined. You know, I’ve seen all these things in history books and on the TV, but it does not compare to actually being here. This is definitely one of the coolest places I’ve ever been. Simone, you’re an excellent guide, thank you very much. My pleasure, I hope you enjoyed yourself. And to be honest, loved it..
