There are palaces all over Europe but this is by far the most impressive that I’ve seen, the Schonbrunn Palace which means beautiful spring. Right now, I’m walking around the labyrinth and maze trying to find my way out. It’s only a block from the street but you would have no idea that I’m this close to the street, it’s quiet, it’s just beautiful. This is only one section of it, this is the Orangerie, but there are so many other parts of this castle, it’s unbelievable.

Vienna City Walking Tour

This post I’m going to get to know Vienna by foot on the city walking tour. So behind me you’ll see Charles of Hofburg, the first person who defeated Napoleon. There’s interesting things of the main boulevard. It’s not just an ordinary road. It’s a business card. I call it always the business card of the empire. We’re walking through some of the public parks right now. It’s absolutely stunning. I mean, I’m standing next to this gorgeous fountain. People are just walking around, sitting, enjoying the flowers. It’s beautiful. This is “The Last Supper” and it looks like a painting but it’s actually a mosaic. There’s like thousands and thousands of little tiny tiles.

One of my favorite stops so far in this tour has been the Spanish Riding School and this is where they train the famous Lipizzaner horses for ten years until they’re allowed to perform for nobility. Right now I’m walking down Groban Street. This area used to be a moat, and now it’s filled in and there’s tons of designer stores and cute cafes. It’s a really fun area. It was just magnificent architecture. The tour was wonderful. It was very intimate. It was great. Beautiful day. You can’t beat walking around the city on a day like this. We’ve just finished the city walking tour and I’m standing in front of the St. Stephan’s Cathedral. It is absolutely magnificent and this is our last stop unfortunately, but it has been a fantastic day. I’ve learned a little bit of history and I’ve gotten to see a lot of the city.
