group. I remember declining the invitation; but, he was so persistent and pleasant, I finally gave in. I can’t remember which of the band members I was impersonating.

Even at that particular phase of my life, in certain things, I was still on the shy side, despite the fact that I was a teacher who had had to introduce dignitaries as keynote speakers at our annual teacher refreshment day in Toronto; had made my Smiles magazine promotional pitches to Benjamin News in Montreal and the my blog and periodical retailers in Jasper, Alberta in 1981; was the lead witness against an offshore finance scam case in Toronto that or the following year; and, was a lead off speaker on the political campaign trail in Anguilla in 1989; but, I had absolutely no fear in hurrying -every time, on every cruise – to be the lead off karaoke singer, doing Frank Sinatra’s song “My Way”.

No, I did not try to impersonate him. To me, that’s virtually impossible. Elvis Presley but not him! Instead, I did it my way, using a deep voice to begin with; belting out the words, some stanzas in, with great volume and passion; and, singing the line “and, did it my way” in an unexpectedly high pitch that nobody would have believed it could possibly come from me; then, softly singing the “I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried” line before blasting the roof off with “For, what is a man, what has he got?”
