For centuries, Dresden has been a focal point of theater, opera, and music. Although most theaters break from mid-July to early September, open-air festivals bridge the gap; movies screen during Filmnachte am Elbufer in July and August at 9pm for around ‚6. (Office at Alaunstr. 62. 89 93 20.) Like other area palaces, the Zwinger has classical concerts on summer evenings. (Shows start at 6:30pm.)
