PRAIRIE LAKES STATE PRESERVE
8,000 acres. Located in the Kissimmee Valley of east-central Florida, this state preserve includes some small lakes, oak hammocks and marshes, prairies and flat-woods.
Activities: Backpacking and hiking are available on 12 miles of trails, which form two loops.
Camping Regulations: Camping is restricted to two primitive areas, each of which is limited to eight persons. Campfires are allowed in designated spots. Campers must first register and pay a nominal fee.
