Now we’re gonna convoy our way up to the ice caves. All right, now let’s make our way into the ice caves. The great thing about these crampons is that we’re gonna be able to actually walk on the ice in the ice cave here. This is beautiful. We’re in the belly of Langjökull Glacier.

This little bridge is taking us across a massive crevice that splits the glacier. So if there’s less than 6% of oxygen, then the light gets in and gets trapped and reflects only a bluish tint. I am absolutely blown away. It’s massive and it’s gorgeous. You feel like you’re in another world. We just finished at the ice caves, and now we’re at our next stop. I can hear it from here. We’re gonna see some cool waterfalls. It’s amazing seeing the power of this water. It’s hard to believe that we were just on that very glacier.

Or if you’d prefer, after the ice caves you hike to Húsafell for a relaxing soak in the geothermal swimming pools. If we’re talking Iceland’s fire and ice, this is the fire part. This geothermal pool is getting heated in those mountains over there. This is the perfect temperature. What a great day.
