ACCOMMODATIONS AND CAMPING
Munich’s accommodations usually fall into one of three categories: Seedy, expensive, or booked solid. During times like Oktoberfest, when prices usually jump 10-15%, only the latter exists. In summer, book a few weeks in advance or start calling before noon. At most of Munich’s hostels you can check in all day, but try to start your search before 5pm. Don’t even think of sleeping in any public area, including the Hauptbahnhofpolice patrol all night long.
