The Museum hosts a new temporary exhibition of historic or contemporary art every two months as well as senior student exhibitions. Selections from the Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation are usually on viewr in the mezzanine gallery. The permanent collection focuses primarily on 20th-century American and contemporary California art. For theatre guests, the Museum is open one hour prior to evening performances through first intermission.

The Art Gallery presents temporary exhibitions featuring the work of locally, regionally and nationally recognized artists. Shows are chosen for “their ability to provoke thought and to challenge assumptions and pre-conceived ideas, as well as their social, political and cultural focus”. There is a juried student exhibition in May of each year.
