Appingedammer Bronz, Motorenfb. N.V. manufactured the engine and ancillary machinery. She had one deck, an 8.8-m quarterdeck and 3.3-m forecastle. The designated code recognition signal letters were: PDuE. On 11 August 1942, the Kriegsmarine Office at Rotterdam requisitioned the Eben Haezer as a substitute for the coastal motor vessel Deni, as the Deni had insufficient horsepower and was returned to the owner. The Eeben Haezer was then used as a transporter in the Speer Flotilla, Wiking, Norway.
