Tomorrowland More in Belgium

On this week’s We Hear, let’s unite with Tomorrowland. For EDM lovers there is no greater annual celebration than the massive Tomorrowland music festival. This rave-tastic event opens each summer in Boom, Belgium, featuring 400 world-renowned DJs dropping beats for three days and nights, while hundreds of thousands of spectators dance along and watch the mind-bending light and laser shows happening on stage. Past lineups have included talents like Skrillex, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Fat Boy Slim, Deadmau5, and more. This year’s event promises to make an even bigger global impact because of Tomorrowland Unite, which will broadcast the shows via live post stream into event halls in Mexico, India, Japan, Colombia, Germany, South Africa, and Israel. This year, Tomorrowland is kicking off in Belgium from July 22nd to the 24th. And if you’re one of the 400,000 EDM rave loving fans who didn’t book a little patch of grass via Dreamville, Tomorrowland’s on site campgrounds, you could still snag a hotel room in Antwerp or in Brussels, both about 25 to 35 minutes away by car.

Of the two, we choose Brussels. Not only because the average hotel prices come in a little bit lower in comparison, but also because of, among many things, The Pissing Boy, which is part of the Brussels folklore and literally a must-see when you’re there. This little statue of the naked boy can be found at the corner of Route illa tube Andrew Shanae, so don’t miss it. You should also check out the city museum dedicated to the history of Brussels, told over the space of three floors. From the Middle Ages to modern day. And no trip to Brussels is complete without a serious day of shopping. Savvy treasure hunters know that any of the city’s many flees and markets are the best place to land antiques and one-of-a-kind finds throughout the year. The Jeu de Balle Flea Market is a great open-air market where you can score smaller items like jewelry, crockery, and vintage clothing, and you can also try to haggle with the different vendors for the best deal. The weekend-only Sablon Antiques Market, operating since 1960, offers a place to find bigger furnishings and artwork, and attract shoppers year-round as well. As for accommodations, we checked around.

You can still book a double occupancy room in the 4-star Renaissance Brussels Hotel via any booking site like Expedia or Hotels calm for as low as 115 dollars per night as of the time of the suite her taping this upscale 6th floor property also happens to have a pool in room by an on-site parking so to recap if you’re interested in heading to Tomorrowland you won’t score tickets on their official site it’s been sold out for weeks instead try via gogo comm which is where people who can’t make it to the festival offload their tickets to you last-minute planners or you can try to get into one of the seven other worldwide unites party either way have fun travel savvy and see you next time.
