Sometimes, the best place to find a good, cheap fish dinner is at a fish market. Such is the case at Morse Fish. Here, dinners range from as little as $2.95 for a catch of fish cakes to $13.50 for a gigantic seafood platter. Dinners are served with cole slaw and tartar sauce, and a choice of French fries, rice, or onion rings. Can’t decide which fish is for you? No problem try a combination platter. Or, put a few side orders together, like fish cakes (500 each), clam strips ($3.95, medium order), and even chicken wings ($3.50, medium). Chicken wings?
Morse is mainly a take-out joint, though there are a few tables. Order your meal at the counter and grab a seat. The ambiance, such as it is, comes mainly from the cases full of fresh fish, also available at good prices. Mine saw steamers for $2.99 a pound and mussels for $1.25 per pound. Open 9 a.m. to 6 P.M. Mondays through Saturdays, until 7 P.M. on Fridays.
