THE MEXFACTOR
Melissa Gutowicz, 34, Married scott Parker, 41, at la Quinta resort & club, cabo san lucas, Mexico, in May 2013
She says: ‘We got married in Mexico, where we frst met, in a resort that had exactly the kind of Spanish style we wanted.
Our colour palette included peaches and dusty sages with splashes of turquoise and coral. For the decor, we hired vintage furniture and scattered it around the gardens – our dessert bar (flled with mini margarita cupcakes, churros and traditional Mexican cookies) was created using a chest of drawers with a glass door frame behind.

We also hung lace parasols from the trees and decorated the tables with hurricane vases that were flled with pebbles and cacti, and terracotta pots containing fowers and succulents. Our forist created a photo booth with props including mini sombreros and guitars for guests to pose with – it was so much fun!
Melissa Prosser, 30, Married BoBBy Collazo, 35, at King Plow arts Center, atlanta, in the u.s. in FeBruary 2012
She says: ‘I’m obsessed with Te Wizard of Oz – I even have Dorothy’s ruby slippers tattooed on to my foot. On the day, we wanted everyone to feel like they’d stepped into the Emerald City so we used green lighting and made yellow table runners with coloured ribbons to represent the rainbow.
Because we couldn’t get poppies at that time of year, we used red anemones in my bouquet, instead. My bridesmaids wore emerald-green gowns as a homage to my favourite character, the Wicked Witch of the West.
My father made the cake – his special four-favour pound cake – and we added the Dorothy and Tin Man toppers. Bobby surprised me with the Yellow Brick Road aisle runner and I walked down it (wearing red shoes of course!) to Somewhere Over Te Rainbow.’
