Brno, the city famous for its fairs, industrial activity and educational center, lies 200 kilometers south east of Prague in the valley of Moravia. It is the administrative center of Moravia and with its 386,000 inhabitants the third largest city of the CSFR. The production of textiles, machinery, electrotechnical and chemical industries make it very active and ensure its economic growth. Daily, 500,000 people commute to the Moravian city from near and far to work and study. The city itself offers quite a number of historically interesting buildings and monuments, as well as a large area with many halls for international fairs, exhibitions, and the world famous high-speed racing circuit for cars and motorbikes, where many large prize races and world championships have been held. As a cultural and education center Brno has six colleges of Further Education, seven theaters and four museums.
