SAM PARR STATE FISH AND WILDLIFE AREA
Located in southeastern Illinois, this state fish and wildlife area is dominated by a 183-acre lake. There are hilly forests of oak and hickory, redbud and maple, and deer are among the wildlife.
Activities: In the area are two miles of foot trails and 13 miles of horse trails. Fishing is available, and hunting is permitted here in season.
Camping Regulations: Backpack camping is allowed along one trail in the southeast corner of the park, near the lake, and walk-in campsites are also available west of the lake. A permit must be obtained from the park office.
