A general museum with exhibits in the areas of the fine arts, decorative arts, anthropology, and the natural sciences, Lakeview Museum organizes an active schedule of changing exhibits drawn from its permanent collection or borrowed from other collections. Holdings, numbering more than 15,000 objects, include Illinois folk art (e.g, Jacquard coverlets), Illinois River decoys, landscape paintings, African art, Peruvian textiles and Native American artifacts.
