TIPIS TREEHOUSES AND EVEN A MINI FESTIVAL SAY ‘I DO’ IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS

FFOREST

We’d already stayed at Fforest during a camping holiday the summer before our wedding and loved how beautiful and tranquil it was – we knew straight away it was the setting we wanted for our big day. Tere are plenty of bell tents, tipis and cabins set among the woods for guests to sleep in. All our friends and family arrived on the Friday night and stayed for a barbecue breakfast on the Sunday, which made the whole weekend so sociable and really laid-back. We were lucky with the weather too, although we did have the wellies on hand just in case.

WISE WEDDING VENUE KENTOH

We could just swing on the hanging sofas in the woods here forever. Tis fun-loving venue lacks a civil ceremony licence but the towering oak and silver birch trees woven with light installations and treehouses (below) create the ideal spot for a blessing. Pitch a marquee in the grassy clearing, fre up the barbecue and get the party started. Later on, leave your guests and slip away to the treehouse suite in the sky.

THE KEEPER AND HE DELL NORFOLKT

is whimsical retreat is just the spot to throw a festival-style bash. Tere’s no ceremony licence yet but you can craf your own celebration in this rustic setting (just nip to the register ofce beforehand). Choose between the traditional marquee and pretty pared-down barn, styling it with owner Lolly Streek’s charming vintage goodies. Plus, the bar is stocked with old drinking jugs and jam jars (cocktails: sorted).

WEDDINGS, CORNWALL

Follow the trickling brook through the wooded dell, past banks of foxgloves and wild roses and through a meadow of tipis. But where exactly does it lead? To a gorgeous sun-dappled glade, where your ceremony pavilion awaits (and it’s legal, too). Tis is a magical spot, where fower garlands in your hair and fairylights are practically obligatory.
