SPLIT ROCK LIGHTHOUSE STATE PARK
MILES DESCRIPTION
Walk past the metal gate and along the mouth of the Split Rock River towards the lake.
A trail behind the bench leads out to a point of rocks in 150 feet. To the northeast is an excellent view of Corundum Point.
Pass Backpack Campsite #4 on the right.
Trail intersection; continue straight ahead passing a cutoff trail on the left and Backpack Campsite #3 on the right.
Trail intersection; continue straight ahead, passing the trail to the left.
Pass Backpack Campsite #2 on the right.
Trail intersection; turn right on the Corundum Mine Site Trail leaving, for the moment, the circuit trail. In 400 feet, the trail ends at the base of a large rock outcropping high above the lake. Turn to the left and follow a narrow path leading around the back of the large rock and to the summit. Along the way you will pass a trail ascending from the left. (You will take this trail when leaving the summit.) Near the summit the trail forks; take the left fork out to the rock edge. Be careful of the steep slope (47° 11′ 16.1″ N 91° 23′ 10.3″ W).
When leaving the summit take the right fork back to the Corundum Mine Site Trail; turn right and reach the circuit trail in 210 feet.
